Ishtar’s Descent

Badia Obaid tells in Arabic the story of the descent of the goddess Inana/Ishtar into the Underworld. This subterranean realm was ruled over by its queen, Ishtar’s sister Ereshkigal. After Ishtar has ventured into the Underworld, she realises that she will not be allowed to leave this ‘land of no return’. [12:02]
